History of Ellia
In the land of Ellia there are four human kingdoms: Zaphyr, Elysia, Isenia, and Servex. Each has their own way of thinking, governing, and living. However, neither has tried to take over the other; maintaining constant unity. They did have armies and when a civil war broke out the armies took care of things. Instances like these have never happened though, so the kingdoms held tournaments twice a month to keep the soldiers in shape. There were also six other kingdoms for the other three races: Esra and Ixlania for the Elves, Endur and Palantil for the Dwarves, and Sinx'ra and Ras'engoon for the Orcs. All of the races maintained trade with each other for the resources they needed. They have always kept together as one world and co-existed amongst each other.
Originally, in the times of old when the trade routes were first established there had been laws against the mating of different races. Now, however, the laws have been abolished due to the amount of times it has been violated. If two different races have a child the mother, father, and child would usually live in the father's home if the parents didn't decide otherwise. Of course the monarchs of each of the race's kingdoms made sure to keep to their race. Not to stop "impurity" as rumors have it; but to uphold tradition. It was an unwritten law and no race was disturbed by it, so it just stuck.
The two Elven kingdoms Esra and Ixlania are known for their majestical beauty and magical properties. If an individual's mind is set on destroying the kingdom a magical barrier will not allow him to pass through. The Elves are known for being adept at magic. Their armies are trained to learn magic and archery together. They are quicker and stronger than most humans and have keener senses. Elves are also known for being able to bestow items with magical properties as well.
The two Dwarven kingdoms Endur and Palantil are known for being built underground. There the Dwarves are able to stay as close to their stones and gems as possible. The Dwarven mines are some of the most abundant mines of all Ellia. Everyone knows that there is no better miner than a Dwarf, and it's true. All of the different kingdoms get at least five kinds of resources from the mines. Dwarves know quite a bit of magic also, they can forge metal quickly, magically estimate where types of minerals are, and even shape metal ores into bars without the use of a fire. Dwarves hardly venture outside of their tunnels so their army is taught how to fight in close quarter combat. Since their weaponry is some of the best, the Dwarves are formidable in combat, even if they are short.
The two Orc kingdoms Sinx'ra and Ras'engoon are the only kingdoms that don't have castles for their monarchs. They believe that all of their people should be treated equal. Their kingdoms are big villages with huts and monarchs live in the biggest one. In order to protect themselves the Orcs built wooden fortresses around their kingdom. Each corner has a watch tower that allows them to view danger approaching. The watchguards look out for anything, and if something comes they sound the horn to close the gate. The Orc army is known for being the strongest when it comes to brute strength; however, they don't have that much knowledge which is why it is uncommon for an Orc to learn magic. Males and females are both brought up to be great warriors as Orcs believe that you become weak if you stay at home all day washing clothes. Of course Orcs still use their homes, just not that often. They would rather go out and find adventure.
Each race lived in harmony with the other. Soldiers got together and fought in innocent tournaments, each race was allowed to explore another race's land at their own leisure and hosted well. The trading and jobs varied from kingdom to kingdom. This also allowed the races to keep a constant treaty. Of course, in the times of old the races fought; but no one remembers those wars.
Every race was satisfied and peace was kept for a few millennia, until the day all of Ellia shook. It was very small, not even noticeable, but it continued to magnify. It was not an earthquake because the whole world was moving. A huge rift formed, and out of this rift came black smoke. The clouds started to darken and then out of the rift came a huge terrifying castle. With it came fiends, hundreds of them, thousands of them, millions of them! And out of the rift came the most evil person in all of Ellia, Fiend Master Zhane. Zhane unleashed all of his fiends on the populace of Ellia. The kingdoms of Ellia can hold their own; but for how long? All of Ellia needs a hero, you can be that person. Or you can go on living your life as a normal person. Either way, the choice is yours. What will you do?
Regions
There are seven regions that make up Ellia. Each region has their own land forms, kingdoms, or minor regions that make them unique. The regions are the Northern Coast, Hidden Dragon Realm, Light Forest, Dark Forest, Dragon Country, Central Plains, and Vast Unknown. The kingdom regions are all connected by the Great River of the Gods. This allows them quick trade and a source of food.
In the Northern Coast are the four human kingdoms Zaphyr, Elysia, Isenia, and Servex. Their source of food are their fields of produce that they harvest and the seafood they gather from the ocean. The area is full of nice long plantations as well as many varieties of produce. The region has a huge beach, the only beach in all of Ellia. It also boasts the start of the Great River of the Gods, the only river in Ellia. It stretches across most of Ellia.
The Hidden Dragon Realm is located on the western edge of Ellia. It is the home of the new dragon city Dragard. It is blocked off from the rest of Ellia by the Windia Mountain Range which is why it is called Hidden Dragon Realm. Here the dragons can eat all of the rams and goats they want and they can live their lives in peace without the pressure of Fiend Master Zhane.
The Light Forest takes up the south-western edge of Ellia and is inhabited by the two elven kingdoms Esra and Ixlania. The area is full of trees and is located near the center of the Great River of the Gods. This allows them quick access to all of the latest goods. The elves there eat the many kinds of fish and the fruits from the trees. The Dark Forest lies in the south-eastern area of Ellia and is where the orc kingdoms Sinx'ra and Ras'engoon are established. The Dark Forest has fewer trees than its lighter version because the Orcs use them to build their villages. The reason it's called Dark Forest is because of the huge amount of fiends there. The Orc hunt the wild boars to eat and protect the animals living in the Dark Forest.
Dragon Country is located on eastern side of Ellia and marks the edge of true Ellia. It expands all along the Highland Mountain Range which marks the boarders on the eastern side and extends toward Lake Myriad, the end of the Great River of the Gods. It is also the location of the dwarven kingdoms Endur and Palantil. It is called Dragon Country because there used to be many dragons. However, when Zhane came, all but the strongest dragons had to flee to Hidden Dragon Realm.
The Central Plains region is the location of Empiria, the only city of Ellia. It has all types of races and is the center of commerce. It is Ellia's biggest interaction center and is home to the Magic Academy, the world's biggest database on everything, and the Adventurer's Academy, which is where you go to gain new quests and adventures. It is also where you learn all of the skills necessary to survive.
The Vast Unknown is the area on the eastern side of the Highland Mountain Range. It is the place where Fiend Master Zhane's headquarters are located and where the fiends first appeared. No one knows for sure what's in the Vast Unknown and thanks to Zhane they won't find out. Everyone just knows it as Lord Zhane's Kingdom of Darkness.
The Gods and Goddesses of Ellia
Introduction
There are four gods of Ellia one for each race. Each god has an attribute that corresponds to each of the races. In order for the people to not anger their god they must pray weekly. If a person does not pray they will slowly become evil. So in order to prevent this from happening the monarchs make sure to have a church in every kingdom.
Orcs
Gen'ron God of Strength is the Orc's god. He bestows the Orcs with the power and strength to defeat their adversaries. The Orcs believe that the worst thing that can happen to a person is to lose their strength. Gen'ron gave them the body and the power to be very strong so that they would not lose strength. In order to compensate for their lack in other skills the Orcs train their children from a young age to be strong and how to worship Gen'ron. Gen'ron created two Orc couples and from these two the kingdoms of Sinx'ra and Ras'engoon were created.
Dwarves
Durgus God of Blacksmiths is the Dwarves' God. The Dwarves believe that their race was made from Durgus striking his might anvil on the clay forms of the Dwarves and those sparks that came from metal pounding on metal was the first spark of light for all Dwarf kind. When a Dwarf child is first born he already knows unconsciously how to mine, where to mine, and the way to make precious stones. All the Dwarf parents have to teach them is how to monitor and focus this magic so it can be the best of their abilities. Durgus makes sure that there are always enough ores for Dwarves to mine and that every Dwarf is born with that special spark of Dwarf magic. All the Dwarves need to do in return is just pray.
Elves
Exliona Goddess of Magic is the Elves' Goddess. She decided to make a race whose prowess in magic surpassed those of other races and that's how she became the Elves' Goddess. When an Elf is born Exliona gives them a kiss of Dexterity and Intelligence. This way they are born with tools necessary to be an adept magic wielder. Elven parents teach their children how to concentrate their magic so that it is used wisely and for good. The Elves believe that although they are great magic-wielders and very wise they should continue to learn as much as possible. Because of this parents try to make their children get a first rate education and try to teach them everything they know.
Humans
Divina Goddess of Diversity is the Human's Goddess. After the other gods and goddess created their races, Divina decided that she would not create a race that's best at one thing and weak at others. So she created a race that is moderately well at doing everything. This is how the first humans were created. Every human was born with a different talent that they could do a little better than another human. However, if one human was able to do it, another one could do it also, just with slight variations in the results. This made humans worse that the other races in a sense. However, it also made them stronger where other races were weaker.
Conclusion
These are the stories of the four gods and goddesses and although each had their own views on what was most important in a race, the races were created because they were meant to be. Whether you are and Orc with the strength of a lion, an Elf with the wisdom of an owl, a Dwarf with the digging expertise of a mole, or a human with the creativity of an otter; your body was built for a destiny. The gods and goddesses made sure you were built to fulfill your destiny and become the best at what your destiny has in store for you. The only thing that the gods and goddesses ask for in return is your moment of prayer to say thanks for their helpfulness in your lives.
Dragons & Dragoons
When the Gods and Goddesses stepped back to admire their races they decided to make another race together. This race would have everything the other races had and more. It would be a great and just race that all of the other races would look at with respect and awe. This superior race was called Dragon; the Lords of the Sky, Night, and Heaven; who protected all of those in Ellia. The Dragons were the only race with a less than humanoid form but this didn't necessarily make them animals. They are wiser than Elves, live longer than all of the other races put together, and have the strongest branch of magic. When the Gods and Goddesses created the Dragons they also gave them an ancient magic that gave certain bloodline Dragons the ability to become more human. These Dragons although similar to humans still had distinct traits such as fins on their legs and arms, fins for their ears, and miniature Dragon wings to allow them to fly short distances. They are called Dragoons, Guardians of the Elements, Ellia, and Life.
